Crazy Heart Patchwork Quilt
Made "in the hoop" for 5x7 hoops.
As incredible as it seems, this patchwork quilt was made of nine blocks embroidered in the hoop, stitched together and then quilted in the hoop. Five quilting motifs which were specifically designed to fit within the borders are included. The quilt is a combination of patchwork, appliqué and embroidery. A basic knowledge of quilt construction is helpful, but this is not very difficult to complete and because it goes quickly, you stand a better chance of finishing it before you lose interest and toss it to the unfinished project pile.
Notice the puffy hearts that are
used on the border. The "Crazy Heart" is appliqué with three
fabrics (very easy to do). Finished size is approximately 35" square, just right
for a play pen or "tummy time" on the floor. Although the quilt
shown used four fabrics, you can choose to use up your scraps and make it very
colorful. Included are blank and "Crazy Heart" blocks and
designs to make the patchwork blocks. PDF instructions are also
included. The wonderful bear designs are available at Designs
